Do you have an office@yourcompany.example mailbox at OVH and use Gmail on your phone? Add the mailbox directly in the Gmail application - then it connects to the mail server itself, without “Send mail as” and its “535 Authentication failed” error.

What you will need
Mailbox address and password - the same one you use to log in to webmail.mail.ovh.net. The button names may vary slightly between Android versions, but the order is the same.
Step by step
- Add an accountGmail → menu (three lines) → Settings → “Add account” → “Other”. Enter the address and select “Manual configuration”.
- Account type“Personal (IMAP)”, not POP3 - then you see the same messages on your phone and in your browser.
- Incoming serverUser: full address. Server
ssl0.ovh.net, port993, SSL/TLS. - Outgoing server“Require login” enabled. Server
ssl0.ovh.net, port465, SSL/TLS (or587and STARTTLS). - Name at the recipientEnter your company name. The application will check the login itself - the error usually means a different password than in the browser.

Sending from your phone
At the top of the app (profile icon), you switch to office@. The message goes straight through the mailbox server, so the 535 “Send mail as” error does not affect it.
Forgot your mailbox password?
If we run the mailbox, write to us and we will help you reset it. Never send us your password; You set new ones yourself when you log in for the first time.
